AIR PUMPS

Post by spin4reel »

What are the best air pumps for the money? I've seen the bass pro shop ones, but they look alittle cheap. Are the bubbles brand pretty good to use in a 5gal. bucket??

Just remember to set up the bubbles so they stay in the plastic box. It can be a pain to turn on and off but will last way longer.

Yep, I used to go through about 5 bubble boxes a year until I started doing that, now I have had the same 2 for over a year and still going strong.

I've used "Bubble Box", "Big Bubbles" (the round one with screw on lid), and now I have the little "2 spd BPS" one. In my opinion, the little one from BPS does just as good of a job, is cheaper to buy, and runs on only one battery instead of 2. Also, I have found that by taking the battery(s) out after each trip and spraying down the inside with WD-40, it prevents all the rusting of contacts inside, which seems to be the biggest problem with all of them.

If you will purchase the larger stone you will get allot more bubbles out of either one you buy . Allot of small bubbles are better then less but larger bubbles. Seriously worth the extra $1.50
They will all work on one battery as they are wired in parallel rather than in series like a flashlight.
I got the little gray one made by seasense when they were being clearance d at kmart , just to check it out and it has worked really good and has a rubber gasket all around for protection and doesn't eat batteries.
Oh yea it was only 4 bucks.

when I get home I take out the batteries then I put the whole mess in a plastic bag half full of rice and it makes them last forever. Keeps em dry internally
