I asked him to wait till next week before he reserves it. I have alot of money bleeding out atm due to this YFT trip, and will need a few eeks to bounce back afterwards. Also we are going back to a 3 day because deep drop is gone, thanks to amendment 17B.

Would it be wise to do a 4day trip even without the deep drop?

I haven't done a Yuri trip, but if we aren't going to deep drop, I would probably say no from what I have seen from other reports...the odds are we will come close to limiting on snapper and not have a lot to fish for during the 4th day..remember we are still limited to a 2 day limit on all species, no matter how long we stay out. The 3 day trip will still give you plenty of fishing time Nelson. I just checked, both of the last 2 weekends in Oct are still open.

Okay, sounds good to me then for a 3day trip. I checked as well & saw others getting closer to the date's we've picked. I just wanted to make sure that all of us are still on the same page for this trip. Just post when you are ready so we can booked it! The extra bucks for not going on the 4th day goes to Yuri's tip then.

The purpose of a 4 day trip to the gulf is travel time. Depending where he takes you it can be 6-8 hours. If you plan to fish the Marqueses then you have the option to do just the 3 day. If you do a 4 day and limited out and want to head back early Captain Yuri will pro rate the trip. I would suggest talking to him about that. Fishing 4 days just gives you more time to catch fish and not always constant worry about the next fish.

You guys better reserved that spot. People have been emailing if I want to give up my dates. I told them fall dates is just as good but more chances for TS or hurricanes. One of you guys can email Captain Yuri to reserved the dates. He gives you grace time to send in the money. It doesn't matter if you are a first timer or a great tipper. He will reserved the date if you email him. Price is not going to change because of it. He knows if you don't send in deposit he can fill those dates.

That was the reason I thought about still doing a 4day trip because of our travel time to the fishing ground. It's up to you guys- if you want either I am fine with a 3day or a 4day trip! David or Jorge, e-mail Yuri & send him a link to this as well if you wish.

I can shoot him an email if you guys want. We should have a vote if we want to do the 4 day. The more I think about it, if I am going to drop this much coin on a trip, what's an extra $166.00? My vote is for 4 day.

766.00 is a lot of coin to drop for catching muttons. My vote is 3day and if 17B changes then go 4. Trust me if he takes you to a mutton hols you can easily limit out. With our group he just drifted his spot we didn't hardly even anchor, and we never drifted the same spot twice. We hardly put any pressure to his spots and look at the mess we caught. Two of our guys would be drinking a rum and sprite and dragging weights around the bottom, rod in the rod holder. We still caught fish. Let alone he spent 3 out of the 4 days looking for new spots on the 50 fathom ledge not going to his own tried and true spots till the last day.you don't need 4 days to limit on muttons. My buddy rick from anglers bait and tackle limited out with his grp in 2 days. They lost a day to weather, they even had 1 guy from new york who caught just 2 muttons and that's because the mate literally had to set the hook and hand it off to him.
I'll set the dates today for a 3 day. During the trip we have an option for a extra day usually he leaves a open window from trip to trip. We shouldn't need it but if we do its an option while we are out there. I only wanted the extra day to deep drop.

Trip is booked for Oct 20th. Its his last trip before he takes 2-3 weeks off to fish bahamas. You all can go ahead and mail or call in the deposits. Just make sure you put in my name so he knows where the money is going it will be under David Sun.

Yes Rory you can. You can call in or use his website and pay by cc just the deposit. There's even a note section where you can put in that its for my trip so he knows where its going. Talk to him, he's a really nice guy.
