I may have just found the replacement for my Stella 8000.

Didn't you sell your VS150 to Bridgefisher not too long ago?

:stupid: You can't beat the weight on those reels.

8) I wish all spinners were bail less. I like it way better with lures.

Putting a bail on a staal is like having training wheels on a Harley.

Dont own any VS yet but are the bail less reels "stiff" when new, meaning there is a break in period to work in the bearings, or should this be a warning if looking for a hardly used new condition reel...

Not an expert by any means but I'm told the O ring's that seal it make it a little stiff at first but that goes away fairly quickly. Like I said not an expert. If true, Jeff at T&R should be able to confirm. Actually I'd like to know for sure my self.

To narrow down the subject more, this would be a USA reel serial number in the 11000. Not sure of what differences of materials or workman ship between China and USA, but Im sure some of the VS experts would love the chime in. Im a lefty so watching the 150L on fleabay right now.... I also heard of the drag knob on the lefty loosing up, so that is another concern for me.... Lots of bidders on this so prob the price will be beyond my price target of around $500 anyway...

Did not know there was a Van Staal made in China. Thought they were all made here.

From what I read on Rory's link, "made in china" is laser etched in the foot of the reel. And I was happy to find, was missing from mine. Thank's again Gio!
