I know a bunch of boats like the Royal Star go down near Revillagigedo in the spring. They catch yellowfin by the boatloads, and nothing under 80 lbs. My friend Greg went on it last year and caught 5 YF over 200 jigging.

I just picked up the fish from the airport. Let me just say 200 lb of fillet is a lot. I don't have room in either freezer and a lot of bait is being donated.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

lol - not sure the exact weight of my box but it was heavy. I had to split it up between the freezer at home and the one here at work. They use bamboo gaffs just like here. They use multiple for bigger fish and open the tuna door to get them in easier.
