With the water levels being what they are, small tarpon have been the most consistant action in my area. Dark #4 clousers and 15lb flouro have been working, they don't seem to picky. Most fish are 8-15lbs, but there always seems to be a few bigger fish if I show up late in the day. Here are a couple pics.

It depends. You know how all men are created equal? Well god had a different plan when he created tarpon. Some of them put up a fair scrap, and others go absolutely berserk. I use a 10' 7wt z-axis, and it's alot of fun for fish over 10lbs. I fish a 5wt occasionally, but I think it stresses the fish out a little too much. The 7wt is far more practical, I can throw the wood to them when I have to.

Bro your a beast at fly fishing and i respect that, I can barely catch those on fly im not to good with the fly but i do it. I was out in a jetty and was catching mangroves keeper on fly is that unusual?

Yeah kinda. Grovers are pretty clever, the keepers usually don't come easy on fly tackle. I've made three trips offshore with a friend of mine targeting grovers in 90' that are suspended at 40', all I've landed are kings and small ARS while he's taken a double didget fish every trip (he uses conventional tackle, and cut sardines). He got one last week that was 13lbs gutted (the record is 16lbs and change). I keep hoping one of those slobs will have a brain fart and take a fly, but at this point it's obvious I need to try something different.

I went wading this afternoon on the Banana, the water was unseasonably cold, dirty, and full of debris. I would give it a few days to settle down and possibly warm up.
