nothing like the pull of a nice snook...I wish I would have been using lighter line....then again I don't. She took me towards the pilings, and i had to stop her and pull her away from the pilings.

tell me about it...I lost two at Dania Pier the other day..one on a chicken rig and the other on a sabiki lol I was using a couple of 6'6" medium action rods that I use for bass fishing so there was no way that I was going to catch those mogan snooks

You hooked a snook on a sabiki???? Thats crazier then my keeper pompano I got on a sabiki! I hope you get one soon. I hooked mine on my torium 30 on a 8.6ft 30-50lbs rod with 30lbs mono and 50lbs leader.

yup...I had left it out waiting for the sardines to come by as they made their rounds around the pier and all of a sudden I felt a yank so hard that basically the rod was pulled from my hands...it was a miracle that I recovered it.

I know...I'm as clueless and confused as you are..then again, the sabiki I was using was made from 6# mono so it's not that hard to believe that only that one hook broke off.

My best snook.
Caught on a 2500 Abu Garcia Cardinal reel/Fenwick 7' Medium rod with 20lb PP, 40# mono leader with a white/chartreuse MirrOdine
I didn't get a measurement, but it weighed in just shy of 10lbs, and 9+.
I forgot the exact decimal.

My biggest snook off of Dania pier, estimated 25lb even though it doesn't seem that big from the pic. Caught on a small spinning rod with 15lb braid and 30lb flouro leader, fishing for small snook. I look like I was struggling to hold that fish up.
