http://www.toolsnmore.com/Thats right, the one out on Southern & Jog Road. Several years ago when I was in the sheet metal trade, this was one of the go-to places to find specific tools for the trade. They USED to have a show room with tools you could see, look at & purchase. They USED to be easy to find. Some time after that I was able to find some difficult to find items like a left handed saw- that was a gift for my dad. What are they now?
Well I had an opportunity & some time this past Friday to go look for a specific drill- possibly even have it ordered through them. So I head over & couldnt find where the place was. Went driving around the warehouses until someone way on the back end complex stopped me & I asked where the store was. Was told it is now on the opposite side of the building where it used to be. So I found it with a little sign over the door outside & was like wtf. Went inside & wasnt even sure I was in the right place. It is now a small room with a counter & behind the counter is what look like metal shelves covered in very much used tools. I eventually noticed a small peg board on one of the side walls with some pliers on it, but that was all. The two guys behind the counter as well as some guy sitting in a chair in front of the counter looked at me like I wasnt supposed to be there- at all. I said & looked around "am I in the right place?" They were like "yeah, we just down sized alot". I said where are all the tools? So this (edited) guy behind the counter said "they are back in the ware house" & he would have to put in a request to have it brought up- what was I looking for. So I brought out a printout of the main web site for the drill- which I had went to from their Tools N More website (they are supposedly an authorized dealer). He glanced at the printout & said yeah we have that & starts putting in a request on the pc & how was I going to pay & told me the price. Then he goes to the shelf behind him, takes this used one off of it & says its like this & I looked at & said yeah, kind of except it has some addtional options that come with this specific drill model number. He stopped & said no it doesnt have that. And I was like yeah it does, it says right here on the printout. He looks at the printout again (in which I pointed out where it says that) & says he never heard of that before. And then says well we dont have that one, why wouldnt this other one work out just as well? (my thought-because I could have got it from Home Depot & Lowes if that was the case.) And he says well he never heard of that & they didnt have it in stock so maybe I could go back online somewhere & order it there. I was like 'ok, never mind, sorry I wasted your time' & left. So if anyone happens to stop by there looking for something, just be aware of what they have become & how their 'staff' is & how their customer service is, contrary to what the website says. This left me with- I can see why they downsized into some little closet that you cant even find unless you waste your time driving around, much less look like a 'professional tool supplier' anymore; it seems unless somehow you know the guys working there personally, they dont want you there nor your business; they dont have anything visible in stock that you can see & its a crap shoot as to what they actually have in stock now; it seems they dont fully know what they are talking about or even care to research; and surprisingly being a retail business, they wont order something for you, wont even suggest that they could order it for you, like they should & will tell you to go elsewhere to find it.
