Anyone have experience with one? They are pricey but I have been looking for a good light, both for fishing and blinding any home invaders and I'm leaning towards one of these. Are they pretty good at being water/salt resistant? For $100+, I would hope so.

They are the best in the market. Maybe you should get Killula to get you one since he still owes you a flashlight.

you could go the cheaper route and get over to walmart, they have a coleman light for about $25 it works on AA batteries and puts out a white light, which is great.ive got one for work and love it,if i loose it,it wasnt 100 +/-. :happyfisherman:

In my opinion that is too much for a fishing flashlight. Keep in mind than you will be pitting these flashlights against the elements of the sea. And for sure you will drop them and get water on them. I have been using the one on the link for some time for work and no troubles, they work with one AA battery and the light output which could be regulated from wide to narrow is very good for the price. It even has a flashing mode.

The only downside is the shipping which is about 2 weeks.

Excellent light

Go for it

Here a alternative for $50

Remember the little light I have on the belt. It is not a Sure Fire but it is a Stream Light PT2AA and has 3 different modes. works with 2 AA and is way sufficient. BTW waterproof 1 meter or 3 foot for 30 min.

I have a few maglites, nothing wrong with them, I'm just looking for something more compact and brighter.

Do the sure fires still use those smaller batteries that go for $20 for a 4-pack?

I have a surefire and a pelican LED light. I love my surefire, but if i were going to be using a light primarily around the water, i'd take my pelican led submersible. Surefire's are literally bulletproof, but pelicans are cheaper and they have a waterproof line as well. See the link below for my suggestion. Very close in size....but this one seems to be cheaper than a surefire and brighter too. i'm sure you'd be happy with either one, but this was just my 2 cents.

Surefire recently raise their prices up in hope to reduce retail sales. They are very busy handling government contracts. I remember them to be less expensive.

:thumright: You are correct. They raised prices at the beginning of this year. Still an excellent choice if you can swing the extra cash.

i have a stream light ultra stinger in my truck, a surefire weapon light on my AK, a smoke cutter pelican angle light in my tackle box, and a 6volt floating lantern on my pier cart. all have there place in my humble opinion .i would not trust my life to anything but the surefire weapon light, not to belittle the importance of the laser grips on my daily carry pistol. the stream light has never let me down, always there for any roadside ,camping, hunting, fishing needs. the pelican light has a pencil beam and clips easily to my shirt for hands free light. and last but not least the inexpensive floating lantern. if lost easily replaced. if it falls over the pier there is possible of recovery do to the floating design. i have a mag light in my wife's car, military flashlights in my camping equipment and all sort of cheap lights thrown in drawers around the house. just remember you get what you pay for when it comes to quality just my thoughts on the subject of lights
