2 Body armor would do jack as the concussion would kill just as easily as shrapnel
3 On behalf of someone who has to deal with moronic rubbernecks stopping or coming out of their houses to ask what is going on when there are cops running around with asssault rifles and a chopper circling um yeah most smarrt people lock theeir doors and stay inside. Screw those bystanders if I see a group of cops messsing with a briefcase they say might be a bomb I will go the other way.

Common sense would tell you to run but not in 3rd world country. Just like Miami, everyone here is a f'king mechanic or a backyard dentist. In that country everyone is a bomb technician.

I don't know guys, looks like they had a "blast" to me

The first time I went to Israel (in '87), I stopped off at a "Makolet" (a little grocery store) to pick up some junk food, and I left my backpack outside the store leaning on a wall (thinking that no-one would try and steal it).
Well, I was right that no-one would try and steal it. It was just too dangerous.
I walked out of the store about 5 minutes later, and walked straight over to my ruck to pick it up. This Israeli Soldier comes running at me screaming in Hebrew ( which I didn't understand at that stage). So I just looked at him calmly and picked the ruck up and put it on my back. The guy nearly decked me. Realizing I didn't speak the lingo, some other soldier comes over and starts to berate me in English that I had caused a "Chefetz Chashud" (a suspicious package), and that I should be arrested. After a few minutes explaining who I was, and what I was doing there, his superiors let me off with a stiff warning (something about, I should have known better, not just being a civilian etc.).
Turns out, they had brought the whole bomb squad, cleared the area, and when I walked out of the store, my situational awareness should have told me there was something up, but no, I didn't notice a darn thing.
They really take those types of things seriously in Israel.

If I live in a place under constant attack I would be too.
