sitting at Panera drinking coffee, I've just got back home from Pusan in Korea where spent about two weeks and dealt with two typhoons, and was just thinking about the mullet run, checked the forum, and found the thread. And I am a happy man. I always greatly appreciate this forum to Tommy and all.

I plan to do some beach walk following the mullet pods where they are around...

BTW, two typhoons were nothing like here in FL... media was as noisy as if category 5... I might be the only one who bought water and drink in hotel room...
they were almost jokes... Path prediction was all wrong...

I haven't see anything yet, but the "pre pod" is pretty solid with lots of pilchards and even ballyhoo in the surf with decent size snook on them.

I am going to check on the tarpon as soon as the wind lets up, but i'm thinking this storm and wind might have things jump started for next weekend.

Had dinner on the intercoastal and spent 2 hours watching some snook blast mullet. The run is here in Pompano. Now is the time to fish it before the full run gets here and the fish get gorged and picky.

Finally got some time away from rotations at the hospital.......looks like the local mullet are very active and some fingers in the mix....jacks and small sharks in the bay are willing.....some trout too. Not sure whats going on with this red tide but i was bbqing at north shore park (82 and collins) by my apt and the next day i woke up with a sore throat and chest congestion..... to be fair i spend my whole day around sick patients.... but this is the worst i have felt from one day to the next

Around 2 weeks ago the green tide infected my canal. Since then I have only seen 1 mullet. Dropped my crab trap and normally I have a couple of eating size crabs in an hour or two and so far in24 hours nothing at all.

Palm Beach Intracoastal - big school of mullet yesterday - fingers and bigger heading south toward Lake Worth - big tarpon, snook and jacks. I only had luck with the jacks on topwater. Took 30 minutes to pass around dawn.
