Re: Bakers Haulover Inlet - 2009 Fishing Reports Only

Post by islandkitty »

Went out to haulover today got there at around 9:00, the tide was low and there was no bait. I have been dying to try out my new gotcha lures so. I cast out and nothing so I resorted to using my skrimps, nothing. My line kept twisting up from the leader on it so I took it off, and did I mention that at the time everyone around me was catching huge blue runners and macks(off squid and spoons). So I took it off and got my dust ol spoon out bam got a mack, I tried it again and got cut off. So I got my gotcha red and white lure out bam a hug blue runner hit it. I usually don't use my saltwater lures but will be using them more often.

Nice report, and nice fish. Way to go changing things up until you found something that worked.

What time were u there. I went today from 9-12 and nothing was biting. Maybe there is more action towards the end of the day?

hows the parking there now? my g/f lives roughly 5 minutes away and i wouldn't mind taking my rod to throw some lures.

is it usually crowded on weekdays in the afternoon?

I know rebel33i, I was there last time and got soaked and cold I left my pancho in the house that time. Plus my fishing buddy said it was too choppy, but I may go by one of my local spots and see whats going on, if I catch anything I will post.
