I got there late ~8am. I didn't catch anything, but wow was it a nice morning.

Small group of guys hitting it. One showed me a pic of a huge jack he caught on a spoon yesterday.

Saw a couple nice cudas come in on cut bait.

I'll be back :auto: :auto: :auto:

I'm there most mornings and the fishing has been spotty at best. I have caught some snook on the area beaches and jacks as well. Yesterday I landed a jack and based on my foot measurement went about 34", big guy.
Saw a couple pods of mullet, but that was it, all my fishing is done with artificial.

4/21 7:30am to 9am

Nothing on the spoon for me this morning.

The crazy russian dude got ~6 small jacks and 2 cudas on cut bait. He gets there earlier than I do, I have to drop my son off at school.

He's not Russian, a Romanian I believe and his name is Gene. I was there from 6 till about 7:30, not a strike today.
You must be the guy I saw walking to the beach with a conventional rig dangling what looked like from a distance as a diamond jig (spoon).

I seldom get there in the PM or evening.
Decent bite earlier in the week ( mornings), but not a strike in the last 2 days and there was mullet.

Was at the seawall last night, saw quite a few grovers on live sardines pulled up, a short mutton, and something else. Not sure what the last fish was, it sort of looked like a big grunt, but it also looked like a lookdown/moonfish.

Sand perch/mojarra ?
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Thinking about rolling over there this weekend, Saturday or Sunday but it is a-lot of boats that come thru that inlet on the weekend, So on that note not sure about the conditions. Question? has anyone been fishing there lately? and if so what bait are your using and what have you caught?

Both beaches are open. North jetty closed but people sneak on, south jetty is technically closed but no one says anything about fishing from there, access is from the beach only, the hole in the gate has been repaired.
Snook on the outgoing and cuda on the incoming, other than that it's been quiet, not much bait there.

Hello all, new member here. I was on the north side of the inlet tonight from the end of the ebb, until just before dark. Wasn't too much action, one school of mullet floated out of the inlet and went north up the beach, I couldn't seem to find anything of any size around or underneath them. I was using a sliver deadly Oscar mayer, only got one small ladyfish, fouled a small blue, and one small jack. All were released.

This is a great board, have learned a bit already.

Was at the south side of the inlet tonight, got there for the very last bit of the outgoing tide. There were some schools of mullet, but nothing big. Got one 6-7lb barracuda, I couldn't believe I landed it, as I am using 40lb flourocarbon for a leader. Was a good fight with one monster jump.

Yesterday was the first slow day in a while at Boynton, still caught a few fish. We fish a lot of cuda there, mostly using cuda tubes, but I have done very well with top lure and 30 or 40# mono leaders. Calm water, incoming tide is best, but doesn't mean you catch them other times.

That would be great! Lets not clutter the forum with details, I will send you a Pm whenever I actually get enough time to go fishing.
