First post of 2009...YAY!

Anyway it was DEAD at the pier yesterday, fished from noon till...around 4pm and NOT A BITE, one guy pulled up ONE mack that ENTIRE time that was it

a friend and i went out there on the first at like 530 AM and left at about 9am.....my friend SNAGGED a butter fish with a Gottcha jig and hooked a lizard fish with the same jig and that was it. Some guy got a yellow.....as we were walking from the t to go home some guys just showed up and got a Rainbow runner and a yellow......the water was very very clear

yes theres bait but only if u know how to bug or snag gogs and theres threadfins

thats why the f**king gogs are so scared sometimes because of you people that cant catch bait and have to snagg them .. if a fisherman does not know how to catch bait then he shouldn't be fishing

No, but snagging gogs spooks them and you can forget about catching bait. Dont think snagging gogs is that easy too.

i know how to bug gogs.i rarely snag i only snag if gogans are droping beaks and 3oz in them .

Hey all, haven't fished much since the New Year, and was wondering what you guys thought of the cold front coming through this evening. Today I hear was a VERY slow day at Anglin's pier. Should I be there 1st thing in the morning? Or would Friday be better? Any advice would be appreciated.

if you are there right now, i bet things will go off. the bites dont always last very long before the coldfronts.

Went out last night (1/7) from 5pm-11pm. After the storm(s) came through the tide was extremely calm. Never seen it that way before. In between a handful of lizardfish, I landed my first cobia (undersized/released) and a bunch of muttons (undersized) and grunts. Lots of bait around. I bet the fishing was better after midnight.

Was out there this morning from 0620 - 0945. Water was dead, no wind, no current. I caught a decent sized moharra, but that was it. No-one else was catching anything either, had a mack attack a few ballyhoos that the other guys had cast out, but no takers.

Nothing usually happens when conditions are like that. I've done my best at the pier when weather conditions are at its worst. You need good current and some color to the water. Some swells makes it very fun.

Hard to say. It is suppose to get colder tonight. I would give Sea Legs a call and get a fishing report and find out on the sea conditions too.
