The best "one that got away" was a new looking spinning outfit. I got it right up to the rail and the tangle broke.
I heard tales of some blues and pompanos, but I didn't see them. The pier was a little crowded, but pretty orderly. A good day.

nice thanks. yeah more than likely i'll take my buddy out there, he hasn't fished in a while, so while we're racking up bait we may try for some action hoping weather and all the right events happen the time we arrive.Baitfish wrote:The bait has been plentiful and nice quality. I drop a chum bag and in 15-20 minutes, you got all you can use. A few weeks ago it was ballyhoo, last week I caught really nice gogs and greenies and this Sunday was pilchards a plenty. One problem...the macks weren't hittin' bait. I checked the stomachs on all seven macks and found one shrimp. The rest were empty. I tried live pilchards, cut pilchards; nothing worked. Artificials were the only things getting hits. The red and white Gotcha took 6 of 7.
