finding the spline on a 2 piece blank

Any ideas on how to find the spline on a 2 piece spinning rod blank? This is a Rainshadow 8'ft 2pc md-fast
Spline each piece individually. Mark the bottom piece at the top and the top piece at the bottom. Bring together and with temporary guides stress it good with as much weight as you dare. Do not jam the pieces slam dunk together so the blank can work itself out.
If it adjusts itself the change the marks.
Find your guide placement at the same time. Mark all up and wrap away.
