LOL, yes the egg is the secret item. Those KC might be strong enough for kblue not to break.

K, the egg is the item to verify that the rod is 1 piece.(secret item) After you posted, and i am satisfy, i will submit a video via PM showing you that rod in action and the bend as well.

Re: bridge sticks
Gonna be iffy since he used that poor a$$ penn stick.
K did you not notice the wall of the penn is thin?
Adding layers to make it strong will hold so far but remember it is layers that could seperate. A blank is baked for a reason. It literally bakes the layers together.
It will hold but could end up breaking just at the wrong moment. However your ingeneuity is as good as ever.
Oh amd if it breaks then at least it willl break behind tje reelseat
out of 9 make 7 lol

I really wanted to recycle my penn stick...I don't like to throw things away... My house is junk yard...lolSTRIZ wrote: Adding layers to make it strong will hold so far but remember it is layers that could seperate. A blank is baked for a reason. It literally bakes the layers together.

Yes, that was my concern as well...as they will twist differently inside...
I hope fiber tape layer may act as good mediator.... I purposely dried it in a direction of tip down and butt up so that rod-bond epoxy fills tip side first...
And I decided to put reel seat further out to tip( more than 24" original plan), which appears to give me better casting position (I know this is not casting rod but I still need to cast).

Re: bridge sticks
I realized 9.2ft blank bends more smoothly than 7.2ft after 2ft extension probably B/C longer length... I like the bend now...

Re: bridge sticks
Raul or Ronnie
Do i need a thread coating under the guide for KC blank?
Since KC blank wall is thick, I think I can just thread the guides directly on blank...
BTW, these wire guides are pain to align.
And guide foot is too wide to be used on good bending rod specially for front tip section.
I found they are not good for calstar grafighter that I am building as back rod for PR trip.
Front glass section of Calstar grafighter has almost 90 deg bending, and foots of wire guide are getting way too close and it makes rod bending stiff...no good... But no problem for bridge sticks I am building.

Re: bridge sticks
1. You can grind the guide feet a little to give them a better seat on the blank. Other than that you should underwrap with thread as a basic rule of thumb.kblue wrote:Raul or Ronnie

2. Not sure how you do the alligning but there is a little trick once the guides are wrapped for a final allignment that will alllign the guides so that when stress gets built it sure will not be the guides to interfere with anything. What I always did is to wrap the guides and before I putt finish on them, I will take a weight (depending on what you build from 2 oz to 16oz) and a reel and bounce the rod. In other words put a reel on and hold it like a spinner. Bounce (carefully) with some weight and the guides will allign that final little perfection bit.
Make any sense?

Sorry for late reply I went on a cruise I gained like 10 lbs...yep you should do an under wrap for guides, and what Ron said grind them and after you wrap all da guides alling them ,and tip for last.

Re: bridge sticks
I put some masking tape to make sharp edge of epoxy on thread...but I didn't do it right and I seem to need some practice...
