Looking to upgrade my rods and reels. Wife has been nice enough to buy the cheap rods from time to time over the years but they dont seem to hold up. Looking to drop no more than $150 per set up right now. Two for me and one for my son. We fish the Boynton inlet, Lake Worth pier and any other place we may go for a staycation here in FL.

I've read a lot Ugly Stiks (bigwater) and the penn fierce 6000 as something good for around a $100. I have my eye on the Okuma Safina Pro's. Anyone use these? Reviews? Looking for 7' spinner rods with reels for 10-20lb mono Anything you guys would suggest? Also, I've never used braided fishing line, know nothing about it. Should I try it on one of my two rods? Let me know, leaving for west coast in 3 weeks for week long fishing trip...
