Pier/Bridge blank question

Post by bigboyjames11 »

I'm going to build a few rods for a fishing trip. Looking for a pier rod to cast 6-8oz lead with bait and a rod to catch permit and grouper. Thinking about a Gator T90xl and a Calstar 550. Any suggestions on those blanks or others. Thanks, James

check out a company out of Houston Texas called Fishing tackle unlimited. They have their own FTU surf blanks that are 10ft one piece built off of the old Harrington blanks. I the they were the 552 model. They have medium, med-heavy, and heavy. Not sure about shipping. They run around 70-80 bucks.
I picked up a med-heavy....I also live in Houston now.
