stripping old rods

We have a good many rod builders here and also those with much to offer about reels, so if you need help with Rods-Reels- or Wrapping do it here

iam rebuilding a rod cause iam poor and i was wanting too know everyones method for removeing flexcoat and epoxy

8) I use a blade. Doesn't take too long. I stay away from a torch. Removes the chance of damaging the blank. Then wet sand the blank, clean it up, and go to work on whatever you want to do to it.

use a heat gun while moving across the area you want to remove the finish, don't stay on a spot to long or you could ruin the blank. Then take a exacto knife or razor blade and cut into the finish and into the thread to remove the thread, but don't cut into the blank.
