pier rod and reel

We have a good many rod builders here and also those with much to offer about reels, so if you need help with Rods-Reels- or Wrapping do it here

In your opinion whats the best rod and reel set-up for pier fishing? All conventional set-ups aside. Just an all around rod and reel used to throw both lures and live baits.

to throw lures and pitch live baits you cant beat a medium sized spinning reel.
