I used testor pigment... Thanks everyone for the comments. It is a messy job, and I found the more you play with it, the more it blends.... Less is more deffinitely applies when marbling. I was just playing around with the idea, but after seeing how it came out, I will do more rods this way. truly a unique build.

First they use Bullard pigments.
Second they let the thin coat of epoxy on the blank set somewhat - tacky
Third - they apply super small amounts - really just the tip of that wood stick you have there.
Fourth - They use a needle with a very fine sharp tip to pull the pigments.
I put a layer of epoxy on the blank... I used a toothpick to put drops of pigmented epoxy on the blank... Then I used a dental pick to "pull" the epoxy in the direction I wanted. Now this being my first attempt, I thought I would be more limited on time before the epoxy became "unworkable". Come to find out I had plenty of time and didn't need to rush at all. I only did about a 12" section not the whole blank at once, but there is no need to rush, as long as you mix the pigmented epoxy each time berfore you apply it, then it will remain "workable". Trust me, you will know when it has reached the point when you can no longer apply it to the blank. I really enjoyed trying this out and I will do another section tonight. Now that I have learned a few things, I think the blending and designing will get better on this one. I will keep you posted.
