Building a 9' bottom rod and extended the blank from 7'2" to 9'2"

The blank I used for the extension is the same as the blank that was extended.

However I therefore had a piece left over and thought I'll try a wrap I have not done yet.


Well it is way not finished but it is progress. Once done there will be nothing to see from the blank. Basically it is growing

Sorry I owe a rod to post up that is done and that you have seen the progress already I'll do that when I really have more time. Right now things are just way to crazy and I got to focus on a total of 3 builds where 2 of them have to be ready by Feb 9th.

Oki doki here the not finished gaff with this wrap that I have never done before. Also needs packing "obviously"

I like that patern and color for sure.

Threads are starting to look tight. The West Coast influence is coming in strong!

The colors were on the fly.

Had it - put it on. Actually the whole thing was supposed to be a test but wound up to turn out better.

Once the wrap is closed and the threads are packed then some CP over it and a nice coat of Diamond II finish.

Got to order the gaff hook that will go on. Handle is Cork BTW but I might put a shrink over it.
