A General rule is length of blank + 1.

9" blank = 10 guides including the tip.

Guide size depends on the reel size you will be using for the blank and what your application/species or the range of application/species will be. Stripper should IMO be no smaller than a 15 with that size blank and then from there on it needs to be lowered in size and in then end be no smaller than the tip diameter. You got to make sure that you have a nice curve when you space your guides. In other words when you have found the spine on your blank and got the grips and reel seat installed you put a reel on and tape the guides to the blank. Run the line through all guides and put some good weight on the end of the line so that your rod gets a really good bend. Now adjust the spacing on your taped guides until you your line follows your bent blank as good as possible in the same perpendicular distance to the blank. Your stripper will usually start somewhere between 20 and 30 inch from the reel position depending on the blank / reel and so forth.

Example

15X3
13X2
11X2
9X2
1XTip

There are so many personal preferences and ways to do it. Go on youtube and or mudhole and you will find all the info you need. For example go here

you'll need to measure the blank to get the tip 'tube' diameter. Then the diameter of the "eye" should be the same/close to the last guide.

I think the tip on the 900h blank is too thin for those bulky non fouling conventional guides.

Unless you can find some in a thinner gauge wire, going with a fuji style guide might be a better route to go with.
