Guys, this Fenwick was given to me today... Does anyone have information on it? I can't read the model #, and I am not familiar with the class. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am going to restore it just want to know more about what I am dealing with first.

thats a sweet oldie you got there!!!

heres a set that i have..

my serial number say there from 1970..

im not sure when they went to that color blank..

thos are sweet.. i would try to strip that down and redo it but try to keep it the way it is.. or just hang it up on the wall

mine are 80lb class and as stiff as a concrete flage pole!!!!

type in fenwick on ebay and you will see many others like it.. i just looked and saw some.. check it out and do some comparing

send a pic to fenwick..i gave them my serial numbers and they told me every thing about them..

Thanks Pete. I did find a part of the model #... 27?43. Not sure what the Middle number is. I sent an email to Fenwick... Hopefully they can give me some info. This thing was laying in the backyard of a a guy I bought an aftco butt from today... He was going to throw it away!!!! I told him I would take it... Now it's at my house. I would like to do it justice. Pete, to restore it; what would you suggest? I want to keep it as original (looking) as possible. The rollers are not rusted they need some oil and cleaning, but are in great shape considering. The reel seat has some pitting but comes apart as it should. I think this would make an incredible restoration. Can I get decals from fenwick or online?

Thanks again.

some one should be able to make those decals for you there very easy.. i would strip all the guides off and rewrap everything.. try to keep the blank as origanal as you can.. even if the guides and reel seat are rusty i would leave them that way.. it will add to the charictor of the rod..

get some brown thread and try to do whats there.. just put epoxy on the guides not the whole rod

look on ebay for some new parts even i have seen them before....the hardest part will be the grips..even if you cant get the origanol grips black eva will be ok..

keep looking on ebay for a rod that looks like yours and try to do what you can to make it the same..

even if its not original try to make it look old ..

I love that couch and cant part with it. So it is in the only room in the house I am allowed to put it... My rod building room (Man Cave)!!!!!!!!!!!! Back to the rod, Fenwick has still not gotten back to me. The rollers have a white teflon or plastic on the outside of the bridge. I don't think they are Aftco, does that pre-date 1958? Not sure when Aftco started building rollers, I thought it was 1958.... Hopefully Fenwick will get back to me soon.
