a blackfin 50-80lb blank has enough balls to rip a telephone pole out of the ground.

Well in that case you should tell Zach Miller from Team Rebel to give you about 25 feet of extra rope coming off the grips. This way you can make a lasso and horse anything up onto the pier. Just be aware, Cowboy Justin might get jealous.

Where are you guys buying their blanks? Are they available through all of their dealers? I didn't see anywhere on their website that they offer blanks.

I got a T90H custom and Its a pig. I cut it down to 9 feet from 10 and it was probably a mistake but great rod will still be around when I'm gone. :toast:

now do you guys think getting the butt extended will ruin the rod or make it liable to break? this rod is going to be used and abused against big fish.

It depends on what you like. I have that blank and I feel the tip is a bit soft. Don't get me wrong the blank will take down any big Grouper and AJ's. I like the stiffness of a Chaos blank but that is my personal preference.
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

Does Chaos have a 9 foot 50-80?
and what do you mean the tip is a bit soft?

I hope my explanation over the phone helped. You just have to feel the action of the blank. You are more then welcome to check out my Blackfin Rods when you are in the area.

I am looking for a 10' to 10.5' surf rod blank with out having to drive to mudhole. I live in Boynton Beach. I owned and operated Manis Custom Rods in Galveston Texas and now live here. I am looking for a Blank that is simular to a Harrington/Harnell 552. I have no experience with the Blackfin blanks do these blanks compare?

Thanks Capt. Mike Manis

Go check out Xgeneration Customs in Lake Worth. I don't know the address off hand just google it. They are close to Boynton. I think they would be the closest place to start.
