1 for 4

Post by fixed80 »

yep.... lost all 3 sharks except a little pup. dont know if the others had any size to them or not cuz the hooked pulled out(or they never swallowed the bait).

Image

well it was a good night to stay out on the beach at least.
wanted to stay longer to put some practice in but i got stuck
by the stingrays barb. it went deep in my thumb and was a Image to get out.
i pulled harder and harder ripping through the skin until it made through.
then that's when the blood started to leak(well not as bad as you think).
just used the salt water to clean it.

i think i might by some jays and see if that will solve this cant get a hook in there mouth
problem. anybody know any cheap brand. i saw some for 3 or 4 dollars but if its lost or swallowed than those hooks are expensive.

From experience, any hook set you do and the shark comes off within a minute or so are usually small sharks. Probably BT or Spinners. It happens because the size of bait and sometimes they mouth the bait and swim away like a dog with a ball in his mouth. Big sharks will destroy the bait for the most part. Allow them time to eat it and set the hook. You will know on the hook set. You brain will tell you "Holy Sh#t, this is a big one" :D

If you are using whole fish learn to use rigging floss to tied your hooks on. Do not hook your bait under the jaw. It just makes hook set harder.
The Judge asked the prostitute, "At what point did you realize you were raped?"
The prostitute replied (wiping away tears), "When the check bounced."

oh no. it was way to painful just to hold the camera since i was by myself that time.
the sucker went deep into my thumb and pulling it out was very hard because of the little
sharp edges around the barb.

might SF 2 days this week. i'll half to see.
