If already dead? I got some frozen raw sandflea... I was wondering if I should cook them and then re-freeze...ffishermen1 wrote:I freeze them while they are still alive.

If they are fresh dead you can still freeze them raw with no problem. I would not freeze them if they were already frozen.tears143 wrote:If already dead? I got some frozen raw sandflea... Re: sandflea
Some people blanch them before freezing, put them in a mesh chum bag and put in boiling water for about 5-10 seconds. If they are alive, I usually just freeze them as-is.

Re: sandflea
refrigerate them raw for a few days in a heavy(alot of salt) salt brine, then vacuum pack and freeze them. they will be almost as good as alive and they will look like they are still alive.(never as good as alive, but real close)
