jacks is a great bait store you just gotta expect frozen hering put in brine saying there fresh, and gotta be extra careful about grabbing 5-7 inch permit dead mixed in with the hering.
GET THAT!

Re: Shrimps in May ?
Two weeks ago at Western Beef, they had a special on Key West pink shrimp. These things were FRESH, not previously frozen, and were only $3.99/LB. Compared to a bag of frozen shrimp which cost between $3.50 - $4.50, a little over half pound gave me more FRESH shrimp than the frozen ones. The thing with these is that when presented in the water, the only thing you lose is the movement. in pricing they're a lot less than live shrimp. So, I bought about four pounds of the stuff, beer marinated most of it and did the peel and eat thing, and use the rest for bait. Many supermarkets have specials on shrimp that are FRESH, BIG, and the prices are totally comparable, IF you don't mind fresh shrimp that aren't alive and kicking. Just look for the specials. I find that a fresh shrimp presented the same way as a live one, drifting with the current, looks and smells a lot the same to most fish. try it!

Kin, jacks herein Florida city has big ones still that are wild caught, same with dons that's up the road.
Andrew (jvor24) usually gets at the yellow bait house in key largo and they have been real big which we fished not long ago.
