There are different species of killifish found throughout the entire state. That being said the farthest south on the East coast , I have seen them sold is Whiteys outside Sebastein inlet.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Yep, I got some in my castnet last time I was netting mojaras and mullet there. The mangroves tore them up.

To find mud minnows or killifish in a new place....consider...is there any expanse of very shallow water?... and even better... is there any expanse of shallow water where it stays shallow at low and high tide. Shallow mangrove drainage areas...Grasses that stay somewhat exposed at high tide which drain to sandy or muddy flats. These fish do like ultra skinny water....and bay like conditions.
