baitwell question

Post by Miami_Chris »

going to be making a baitwell for my skiff and was wondering how do baits like pilchards, threadfins, etc last in a recirculating bait well vs. a well that constantly pumps in new water.

the recirculating well looks nicer/simpler, but if bait isnt going to really last, i might as well make something that continually pumps in new water. any input?

There is a couple of threads on this. I think the answer was Fresh is best with recirc being second and bubbles last. Depending on bait.
Nice Boat! Now get it outa my driveway!

It also depends how big your baitwell is and how many baits you try and put in there.

8) Mount your pump on the outstide of the boat off the back, so it is sitting in the water at all times.
