What a really nice looking Thursday morning!
With mostly blue skies, mild temp and light NE breeze.
The water was calm and clear 8)

@ 6:15 am this was what the end of the pier looked like (looking SW)...

Todd with a real nice spanish on a small live LY (scaled sardine)...

Image

Scott (from Henegar, AL) with his first spanish from the pier...

Image

Yep, there was a sho-enough "Chicken Chaser" sighting...

Image

My 24" FL spanish (just over 4#)

Image

A nice redfish (+13#) caught bottom fishing with cut bait (released)...

Image

"Tater" Ledlow's 29.5# king (on a twice refrozen 'popcicle') :dude:

Otis 'bowed up' with his first spanish (he's recovering from surgery)...

Otis with his 4th spanish. Check out that grin...
He's mighty glad to getting back into what he enjoys!

1st of three 'keeper' mangroves I caught... :happyfisherman:

I got to visit with "Ugly Stik's" dad for a while :  No pic :eye:

The sunset scene (complete with 'eye candy' ;-)

It sure was a glorious day.
Thank You Lord for making it so, and letting us be there to enjoy it! :D

I extend an open invitation to you to join me on any of my fishing trips, because I never have any pictures close to what you post. :toast:
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Nice catch and great pics that pier looks amazing, and does everyone only use spinning gear up there?

Nope, I caught the mangrove snapper on a conventional (my Shimano Calcutta).
But mackerel fishing here (from piers) with most baits and lures is just 'easier' with spinning gear.

Thanks folks!

Large live baits and frozen cigar minnows are getting the kings.
The snapper will eat small live minnows or small live shrimp right next to the pilings.

Woooo Hoooo!
