Big accident on mi marker 24. At least a 3-4 hr traffic jam. Head on collision with a roll over. On the bridge.

Re: Lower Keys Fishing Reports
look for any grass flat's and you should be able to rack up in no time, as size goes you just have to weed through any bigger ones till you find the ones you like.
squid or shrimp tipped #4 sabiki and you should be good to go.

Re: Lower Keys Fishing Reports
Went down Friday night. With the weather as bad as it's been I didn't expect much but I had the fever. We went to a small bridge just south of channel 2 to spend the night. We only caught 10 snapper but they were all big. The smallest one was 14 inches and the largest was 18.5 inches. Seems like the wind and current kept the little guys from annoying us. The bite died down as the sun came up. Only caught 4 more fish all day Saturday off the #5.

Re: Lower Keys Fishing Reports
I spent a weekend over at Key West and fished for a little over an hour on Sunday. Starting at 10:30 am I was about to limit out on mangrove snappers with shrimp very quickly. The first grover was the largest coming at over 18inches and after my third keeper I tried going for the larger ones, it took a while to seed through the smaller ones but all of the landed grovers were over 11inches (I think my smallest keeper was at 13inches). Among other things I was able to catch sizable grunts, yellowtails, a schoolmaster, a small strawberry grouper, and a bar jack. Everything considered, the hour that I spent fishing from shore was absolutely a blast. On my first trip to Key West I had good hits on every drop, so much so that I didn't bother using any other set up. I expect the next time I show up I will be ready land some of the big boys with my bigger toys.
