Line Question?

Post by xtremeh18 »

Switched all my lines last night to Ande Pink, except on my 4/0 which I'll get to eventually. I bought 6lb for my bait rod, 20lb for my rod and my dad's rod, and then I wanted 15lb to put on another rod but they only had 12lb. I ended up buying the 12lb, is this to light for mangroves? The reason I went this light is because I know that bigger mangroves are very wary and I would think a lighter line might help.

Now I know when I bring up a ball of lite line who does it belong to. (tommy 12lb is fine if you are holding the rod vs using it as a bottom rod.

I use 12 but on my 4000 stradic...it'll work, but like mentioned, if ur using it as a bottom rod, forget about it..and sometimes you'll even get owned with rod in ur hand too..lol...I've caught 3-4lb grovers and have pulled them out of the pilings, so it's not impossible to do..just a lil tricky..lol

LOL! Okay thanks Rare and yes I'll be holding it in hand not using it as a bottom rod. I'm planning on freelining live shrimp on a 1/0 hook tied directly to the 12lb mono.

12lb is fine . Your still gonna get beat by some of the bigger grovers who take you under the bridge but you should get more hits . Good luck.
