I'd say find some canals, I prefer ones that have multiple canals merging together. As u know, south florida has a ton of them, just have to find one where the cops don't chase u off. I prefer this to bridges and places where everyone and their uncles fish at.

i second this. Be careful out there...especially in wealthy areas....

but i f you're just looking to get tight...net some bait (dines everywhere now) and fish around the high tide...you will eventually find snapper if you put some time in.

2 wks ago, i went to get some bait (knowing the repercussions) and sure enough i had a lady miami police stop me and told me, " this is my area of concern because my seargent assigned me to it and i will take you to jail for this pettyness. Please do not let me catch you here again because i remember faces really well!". I just remained calm and polite and hauled ass!!!

lol... Or a kayak . Seriously if you have to choose between a canoe or kayak. Go kayak, they are a lot more stable.

I prefer lakes for night fishing. There you can relax in silence :happyfisherman: . If I want to catch a lot of fish I use portable fish finder. It is used for fishing from the silent shore. IF you want to know more about it you can read portable fish finder reviews. Also going to a long time fishing you have to buy a backpack! It is the best solution not only for fishing but also for hiking. Read waterproof backpacks reviews and make sure of it. 8)

Way to bring up an old post, lol.

Anyway, I'm surprised no one has mentioned fishing at some of the state parks at night. Do your research, a few of them let you fish in them after the park's normal hours. That is, as long as you have a special pass.

I started fishing at night recently, I live in Missouri, not far from Springfield, there is Lake Stockton. I will add a photo with a map of this area.

By the way, for a very long time I could not choose a fishing rod until I came across this site https://theoutdoorsman.org/best-trout-fishing-rods/. Since I'm a novice fisherman, I took all the information about fishing from this site as well as from videos on YouTube. I recently caught a trout in this area. I don’t know how she appeared there, they put it there, but I will also add a photo with the caught trout, I caught it during the day.

Here's a story my friends. :D

First I don't know what you're fishing for or what species this lake has to offer.I'm a big cat/hybrid striper kind of guy myself. But after looking at your map,a lake without natural coves drives me crazy, I'd let the wind dictate my spot.A south wind several days in a row is going to have bait stacked up on that north end.I'd load up with cut shad or skipjack and cast as far as I could out along those shelves close to that deeper water. If at all possible I'd try to present my bait, santee cooper rigged,in say 8 to no more than 14' of water. If you're not after big blues or hybrids I'm probably way off base here, that's about all I've fished for the last 20+ years.

Good Luck
