Where to fish? - Help needed

(Date your Titles) This area is so Members can post the area they may be fishing if it is a public place, "don't post private spots" and other members can fish on by. They could also PM you to keep it not so loud.

Where to fish? - Help needed

Post by wade2888 »

Hi everyone,

Im new to Fort Lauderdale and would really like some local help for any fishing spots. (even bad ones will do)

Im right on the corner of E Oakland Park Blvd and N Ocean Blvd.

Does any one have any ideas how to get access to the inland water ways to fish in this area? In the image attached i have circled the general area.

It seems most of it is blocked off to the public.

Is it worth fishing in there?

Right now ill be happy to catch anything at all. All i have been getting is bait fish on the beach.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Other than the draw bridges most of that area is closed to the public. Just to the north of Las Olas on A1A is a dead end canal to the west of Beach Place. It is apartments but if you do a quick rn and gun in there they will leave you alone. Loads of jacks at first light there. Also the beach at Sunrise has a marked fishing area.
Dreaming the dream that one day I can be as good as some of the boatless pros and catch some 12 inch mangrove snapper.

Thats for the replies guys.

Ill try under the bridge and let you know.

I take it that area i circled is not really a fishing area.

If i go west are there more options to fish?

Thanks
