I'm headed to the Keys this weekend for the first time. Can anyone recommend some places to fish? I have heard alot about the bridges down there. What is biting in the keys at the moment? What bait should i bring? I usually just fish with shrimp and squid. I sometimes use cut up blue runners i have in the freezer.

If it is your first trip I will say start with Ch2 & start working your way down as you start fishing more down south. Nice fatty greys & bluefish were being caught. Shrimp, fresh ballyhoo, & pinfish. Use the squid to catch grunts, the large one's for cut bait the very small grunts will be use as live bait. As you start to master these bridges you will tell what will work. Don't give up & good luck

This will give you a jump start!

Just wanted to report back in. I went down with the family back on March 25th. Thank you for the suggestion rare. Channel 2 bridge was fun to fish. We did not catch any thing that was keeper size but we did catch a lot of little fish. Little snappers and a few other fish that i don't know the name of. A couple next to use caught a nice sized barracuda. The family had a lot of fun and we fished till the bait was gone. Was nice to see the bridge was sponsored by the boatless fishing forum.
