well we met at the ramp at 6 vic seemed to have over slept so it was 4 of us. we arrived at the wreck before sun up and started out jigging. We started getting over the wreck and had a nice AJ attack and almaco attack. it felt like spawning season. for some reason the Gypsy blue/green jig kills it. I have been using the same jig for a year now. well not the same but you know. anyway Jared ended up with 2 almacos, fancis (rookieangler) with a nice Aj, Blue only managed a blue runner but will be back for revenge. I ended up with 4 Ajs 1 almaco and a decent king at the end. The trip was def going to be interesting being I forgot both gaffs at home. We did have a double header at one point and numerous hook ups.

I ran out of juice and i cant even tie my knot properly. Per jared my knot sucks but to be fair, I plan on leaning a few this year. As long as it doesn't take 5 mins lol.

I am still thinking of that king cut my 80LB flouro... It swallowed at least jig and a foot of leader...maybe it was shark...

From braid to leader, my go to is either a uni or a knot similar to surgeons. The uni was me tying it incorrectly

I didn't see your knot... Did your knot break when you had that big fish?

Do you guys only fish this wreck? Do you ever troll or flat line livies ? Just seems the effort for all that jigging is paid off every so often im just curious not trying to be a kots but when i picture your guys trips i just see drift and jig over the same wreck. You guys fish sails gogs n runners on kites? Run the beach for cobes? maybe you re missing out please dont take it the wrong just something i have been dying to ask..

Usually we have people bottom fish which is how we get all those cobes last year and snapper I'm not really a fan of trolling just find it boring. we did the live bait last year and jigs seemed to out fish them. It's a lot of work but that thump when they hit it makes u only wanna jig

Gotta agree Phil. I've had very limited luck trolling. But a couple wahoo make up for that.

I also like the jig knowing I caught the fish meaning I put the work in learned a technique that works and get rewarded. If I jig all day and can't ch 1 big fish in happy

FWIW I visigtedthere wreck today with the family for maybe 15 min,droped 5 times, 3 out of the 5 were hit and missed on the jig, it was a parking lot on the wreck today

What were biting?

Dunn my son started getting sick as well as one of my wifes friends. so we ran back in. it was windy as hell though. and packed. I reset twice and every time someone parked right on my ass ,

I was waiting for you to show up and pick me up at the inlet . Snook wasnt playing with the cold early morning.
