Decided to charter out with my gf and good ol capt fishman himself. First off I want to say that I used to think tarpon fishing was really dumb.... Until tonight ..... GK put me on a 200lb poon and honestly after that fight I have a whole new respect for poons. None the less awesome charter had a great night etc good company and good Fishig is always a good time in my book.

Check out fishmanjoe on Instagram if you want to see what you can catch TONIGHT when you charter with The Beard. Poon? Call him. Snook? Call him. Hammer? Call him. Grouper? Call him. You think fishing SUKS now in Fla? Lol Call him. So friggin easy when you sit on top of the fish. And you won't have to worry about your lady hitting on the good looking captain.

I'm not sure how anyone who likes to fish wouldn't be interested in tarpon fishing, unless they only want meat fish. You're not the first person to say they had no interest in tarpon fishing til they caught their first one. Ya, a 150# fish jumping 6' in the air, that sounds lame... Glad you finally see what it's all about.

Its cause you are targeting them that makes it different. No different from the reef donkey if you targeting them. Them 50lb+ AJ fight till the end. If you like the fight of a poon then you will like like the AJ as well. Now, if you targeting other fish and want nothing to do with AJ/Poon it because a nuisance. Just put it this way, went to target permit up north sometime back. That's all i wanted and i was upset that i caught a snook.

I've been chartering GK since back in the day when all he wanted as payment was the twelve bucks for the launch fee. A tad has changed lol but he's still by far the best deal in all of Florida. I caught my personal best poon with GK by over fifty pounds! Personal best snook by seven inches! And my biggest Cuban wahoo ever snagged on a treble if that's legal lol. I've not only never skunked but I have caught the species I was chasing on every trip. And now that I'm thinking about it .............between parking, pier fee and fleas it's cheaper to fish with GK than at Dania.

Can't blame GK....spots in the bay are far too valuable and vunerable....only ppl I take to my spots are friends that only fish for a good time or my brothers...if in the wrong hands, I can't imagine going to my spot and seeing someone there every single time I get out...but if someone finds it, it is what it is...

Don't blame me when you see a bunch of straw hats fishing on your grounds.
