does any one fish there often if so what artificials seem to work best for big bass

Fished it several times before the Hurricane hit.... Very deep and clear... Did best on Carolina Rigged finesse baits, in natural colors... Watermelon shades being best.. My biggest fish came out of there on a Flutter Hook Watermelon Fluke... use fluoro leaders, or light leaders, as these fish are sort of "pressured' being it is a park

if they are pressured use a wacky rig seniko (circle through the middle of a stick bait) this SMASHES bass and big ones too.

There are a lot of large Bass there. Also a lot of small Bass. There are tons of cover and prime structure. I typically use Senkos rigged wieghtless. Very effective. Watermelon and Pumpkin seem to work best. Willow leaf Spinners work well to. There really isn't a lot that won't work if used with current conditions. For cranks and swim baits use Bluegill or Tilapia replicas. I have also noticed a fair amount of suspended Bass at time so Jerkbaits are very effective as well.

I live near by so I practice there quite a bit. It is a fun lake to fish and great for sight fishing (which has been good for practice with bedding Bass). It has a lot of charachteristics of the larger lakes so being able to use different lures to adapt can really teach you a lot.

Also, to target large Bass go big and slow. There are some double digits in these lakes but large bass don'y move around or school like the smaller ones. Try a 7" Stick "O" with a 6 Ott worm hook weightless, flip a few feet from the deeper banks and after it settles give it a couple quick jerks so tha it may jump 1'-2' off the bottom. You won't catch as many Bass but they will be big quality bass. Use lunker sauce or Yum crawfish scent they will hold onto the worm longer and watch your line.

Just remember BLUEFISH IN NY spots suck..... sorry couldn't resist. I used to fish there a lot as a kid. Lots of big bass back then haven't fished it in years though. These guys all gave some great information now go catch some fish.

lol... that placed was labeled "suck" cause last time I went I only caught 3 tiny bass

There are some BIG Bass there. Last March I caught and released a 9.9# Bucket Mouth. There really isnt that much pressure from what I have seen in the last 2 years.

I fished these lake alot as well since I also live fairly close. All the above is good advice !!
