Fishing Advice?
Hello this is my frst post i am a junior in high school and i've been obsessed with catching a bass, peacock bass, snakehead, and pretty much any other freshwater south florida fish. My problem is that i've fished at Markham park, CB Smith park and Brian Piccolo and i jut cant seem to get one bite. I've been using an ugly stick lite with a 15 lb test line and a strike king sexy frog Pumpkin color everywhere i go fishing and i just cant get one nibble on it im extremely frustrated with myself and i dont want to use live bait. Can someone give me advice on what would be a good lure to use. I've read that late spring is the best time to use topwater lures BUT NOTHING. Help please

plain black, scented rubber worms work best for me. i think top water lures work good too, but when theres little to no wind and either right before the sun comes up or right after it sets. but bass have a great sense of smell, so those scented worms, especially black, work all day long in my opinion. i like the brand gulp. work them slow too. give the bass time to snatch em up.

Re: Fishing Advice?
One thing ive learned is that when it aint working switch it up.
I have never fished at the spots you say, but judging by the location you are only a few minutes away from great bass fishing spots.
Look on google earth at spots west of i-75 between miramar and sheridan. Lots of spots you can try by there that will produce.
It's always fun to go exploring new spots and find one that nobody fished and holds fish consistently.
Good luck.

I agree with Opi; black scented worm never failed me! Change speed on your retrieves but slow works best. Also change depth. Let that booger sink!
Those other fish must be smart. We caught all the stupid ones!

I would also lighten up your line if you want more action. I use 10 lb braid (2 lb diameter) with about 3 feet of 12 lb leader for bass fishing. If using mono, I use 8 lb.

How should i rig it? With an offset hook wit the worm and what? Or throw it weightless? And where should i throw the worm out in the middle of the water or 5 feet from me from shore?WetWillie wrote:I agree with Opi; black scented worm never failed me! How do you like to rig it and when is the best time to do that? What time of day?opiato wrote:plain black, scented rubber worms work best for me. i think top water lures work good too, but when theres little to no wind and either right before the sun comes up or right after it sets. but bass have a great sense of smell, so those scented worms, especially black, work all day long in my opinion. i like the brand gulp. work them slow too. give the bass time to snatch em up.
