Bedding bass

Post by linh »

Walked around the apartment pond today and could see a few bass on the beds already. Isn't it pretty early for the bass to be on the beds already?

:stupid: if that water temp is right and the full moon is close they will bed or start too stage the spawnin grounds. it may look like they are bedding but they may just be gettin ready little males will clear a bed and hope to get a big female intrested. theres alot of things you need too look for in the spawing times. if you find a bed how many fish are on it ? how clean is it (has the fish been there a while)? are there other beds in the area ? theres a whole bunch of tactics and questions you need too look at if enough people are interested ill do a page. befor i started saltwater fishing i was an everday bass fisherman i did tourns and was in a club for a couple of years.

Thanks for the info. Theres beds all along the apartment pond. Some are cleared out and some are just in the beginning stages of getting cleared out. Most of the beds are only holding one bass. I'm guessing this is a male I caught today. Took me nearly 20 mins to trigger it to bite.

A pg on it would be cool. @ linh -Nice reel. I tried my friends out and I like how the settings can be changed on it. Good reel for the price.

At first glance I thought it was a tilapia bedding. I was expecting near march for the bass to start spawning.. I guess because of the lack of cold weather this winter is causing it.
