Crappies

Post by Crappie536 »

First of all, Greetings everyone! I just moved here from Ohio and am in desperate search of some freshwater Crappies. Can anyone tell me where I can catch some of those in Jacksonville or surrounding areas?

welcome to the forum and it depends on where you are look for big deep lakes. lake ida , osbourne, okeechobee. ive caught in some deep canals but if you look around hard enough you should be able to find them.

do a search on here... U will see some posts I made... The "lakes" with deeper water in Northern Broward holds them... ALWAYS got them during the winter, never past April
My posts are just my opinion... Gathered from my research and my experiences in this passion we all share.. Dont hate if my opinion differs from yours... We all have opinions just like butt holes

what part of town do you live in.
if you can get to the doctors inlet on the southwest side of town off hwy 17 you can get them there. also down in polatka at the resivor is good and below the dam i know one other spot but cant remember the name right now.
i know a killer spot at lake talquin but that is two hours away and you need a boat. it is world class and has a pile of tourneys there with a minimum size of 10inches for crappie and 18 inches for bass

Try Hanna Park in Mayport. Use a beetle spin in the lakes that are in the park. It might be to late for the Speck bite however. As a by-catch the lakes in the park hold big Largemouth. Also their is a lake behind the Budweiser distribution center, Google regent blvd and central parkway. It is also the entrance to UNF. Tight lines. I have caught many 5+ (lb) bass in that lake.
