5-6 Port Myaca

Post by OkeeArt »

Took my son-in-law out to the banks at Port Myaca to try and get a mess of catfish. We left the house and hit the bait store for 1/2 pound of minnows 1 tub of red worms and a tub of night crawlers.
We arrived there just before 4:00 and set up all along the bank and I took my small pole and put on bread balls to try and get some small blue gills for big baits.
we had 2 short runs on the catfish rods that didn't produce anything.
Not even any luck with getting any blue gills.
I heard Eddie scream out he had a big one on so back up the bank I went ready to clear the rods out of the way but he almost had it in by then and when her did get it in I started laughing as he had a freshwater eel.
by 8:00 we decided it was time to roll as it was getting dark and the wind had picked up bad for the side we were on.
We went to nubbin slough and looked and it was too windy there as well.
We settled on a little place on taylor creek and I hooked one small cat one average mud fish and just before leaving a small blue gill.
All released.
