The sun's already out and I notice that the lake is really quiet and still. So I quietly head to a spot and cast out. Using just a rapala on the second cast I noticed a hard tap but nothing hooked. I thought it might have been a bigger mayan since they go looney for these lures. So I cast out again and this time I pay close attention passing the same spot where I got hit and BAM! Fish on!
I'm fighting the fish and when I get it withing 10' I notice its a nice sized peacock. In a hurry to bring it in I was fighting it but it kept peeling off line. I gradually increased my drag and finally got him in. Took a few snaps and weighed him. Four lbs! Didnt get to measure him but had a hell of a time! So I let him go and keep casting. Sure enough another fish on! I pulled in 2 more peacocks a little over a foot. One LMB on the smaller side and 2 baby mayans. Hell of a morn!
After work, I decide to head on over and give it another shot. This time I catch 2 smaller peacocks immediately. I must have stirred something up cause then come 4 large LMB cruising around where I'm at. I manage to hook a total of 4 LMB. One just under 5lbs, one at 5lbs, and two around 2lbs. All in one day and it went by so quickly!
Anyhow i'll stop running on and leave you with pics. enjoy
