Fishing with an Umbrella Rig

Post by StuCannon30224 »

Heading to Fernandina Beach next week for a long-awaited vacation and need to know if it is legal to use an umbrella rig off the pier there. I read thru the FL Saltwater fishing rules and they were clear as mud on the matter. Can someone please give me the straight answer on this?

There's no rule against using more than 2 hooks on a rig, fishing in salt water (sabiki rig).
However there are rule against using more than 2 hooks rigs for certain fish like redfish(red drum). So check for the species you are trying to catch.

I am remembering this off of my head. Please someone double confirm this.

I was thinking (hoping, actually!) for a trout or two when I cast it off the pier. I wasn't planning to let it sink very deep...not down into redfish range.
