Do Cero Mackerel Have size limits?

Post by oceanorange »

OK, so I was looking at regulations for Macs, size limit for spanish is 12" to the fork.

But it states nothing about Cero's size limit. I read somewhere they are an unregulated species found only here in south Fl and no where else.

I heard from locals that these do not have size limit, but I really want the real answer,

Cero Mackerel, Size limit, yes? or No?

King Mackerel is 24'' to the fork
Great, I did not want to break any rules, even though I figured there was not, wanted to know I heard it from someone else.

With the trick I'll show you tomorrow, you'll catch some ceros.
I catch them at this pier 90% of the time that I go. caught 9 last month in a 2 hr period, If you want I'll post the picture.

P.A. is right dont keep any under 12" or you might run into an ID problem with someone thinking they are spanish. most fish under 12" dont have enought filet to make it worth it to kill them. [/b]
Do the right thing and forget about it no one needs to know - just you.
