$2,000 Kingfish

Fished the EKFT (kayak tournament) in Pompano Saturday. 117 anglers out there. Light west wind, dead flat seas, green water out past 500'. Basically the conditions sucked. Bonita all over the edge. On the jig, on the gogs, they were relentless. Almost every drop on the jig between 100-200'. Finally got a decent king and took 4th place in the tourney to my surprise. Had I bought into the king calcutta I would have won $2,000 for that king. Lesson learned.

Now that's the kind of great pic I really enjoy seeing once in a while. I'm sayin so many pics posted are just kinda pics of dead fish. And most of those members I don't know so I have little interest but once in a while a great one pops up. Don't know you but great achievement, great fish and great pic. Thanks bud

Thanks guys, and did you know that's the first king I ever killed on my yak. I've caught quite a few and released them all. If it wasn't for the tourney, I would have released that one also. Tight lines
