Boynton Tuna II 10-20-2012

Post by Cookinman »

So met up with a few fellow yakkers at the but-crack of dawn on the S Side of the Boynton Inlet for a lil paddle - Realized at the point that I left my battery to my FF/GPS still connected to the charger on the gagage...DOH !

Paddled S to the Martini Glass or so - and this time didnt get first hit until like 350' or so. The BFT's were there as usual lately, however they were a little smaller than they had been last few weeks and a lil deeper....Went 1/3 trolling out and also got sliced off as well. Paddled back in to try jigging the 230 ish drop off, but that turned to bust pretty quick....

Manny and I then decided to troll all the way to the Skycliffe and see who may be home.....Picked up a few BFT and Bonnies along the way....

Highlight of the day came when after getting a football BFT Yakside, I heard a very loud Splash behind me and turned to see the dorsal of a HUGE Hammerhead as he quickly turned back at the yak.....Yanking my feet and the BFT aboard in one quick motion, I found myself breathing heavy as a 10-12' Hammer circled tha yak a few times defore sinking away.....

With no electronics, finding the Skycliffe was a little hard, but we did it. Manny and I each hooking up on our first drops.....Kept a lil Almaco for the grill Made a few more drops and decided to paddle it in.....hitting a few more bonnies and a few runners all on the x rap along the way....

Heres a couple shots - small but damn tasty :)
