Look into Jackson kayaks, but, with the chair in high position the kayak does befome a nit unstable. Also D I c k's sporting goods has some cheaper alternatives like the Pescador 12 and some others that have a seat highrr up than normal.

Maybe kayak's not the way to go? How about a Jonboat or even canoe? Just a thought.

l think Beo is right maybe an affordable Gheenoe is better for you. Unless you want it for offshore.

You can get a used one as low as $500 but no engine and I have seen them as low as $700 with engine on Craigslist. You just have to patiently look for it. Good luck.

Depending on what you want to spend man I'd look at a Native.
http://www.nativewatercraft.com That seat sits up pretty high and it's stable as a dinner table. Also, there's another brand Santa Cruz that's taken a new way of thinking to kayaks.

If you want something like a flatback canoe drop me a message, I've got one that's needing to go and is setup for a little motor (the current motor is an antique but worked fine last time it was used), it's bullet proof and in incredibly good shape.

I can vouch for the native seat being very comfortable. Also extra stable.

I just googled "Gheenoe" for myself and they look very appealing! Hey Fishsmoke, looks like just the ticket for you too. IMHO, kayaks are made for sitting low, they're unstable enough already, can't imagine adding a high seat too!
I just don't see the attraction of a kayak for fishing, but they are fun to paddle around in.

The newer yaks at Bass Pro have some nice seats on them!! And extra wide for more stability. A guy I watch on youtube just posted about an elevated seat for kayak.. Heres the link....
