We should hook up the 50cc polini for kicks and rev it to 12,500rpm and see what happens

I bought a hand grinder at a flea market once, one of those old cast iron ones that are indestructable...it has a manufacturing date of 1942 on it. I tried making chum once, and quickly decided that it was worth paying $6/box for it.

My gut feeling tells me if you have a choice, you may want low-speed high-torque motor for the same horse power.
High speed may not spin well with big fish bone or head...

Dear, kblue

That 50cc w/c engine will never go on that. It was just a joke...My engine tops off at 15k rpm but the sweet spot is the 12,500. This engine is not even ported and just stock. This is the engine off a real mini moto bike....or better know as pocket bike here.

aaaa the pure innocence.... that 50cc revs to high, u need like an old chevy motor..or maybe the one from my boys old ram 3500!!

yeah most people say its a mission and a mess.. im up for the challenge.. think the key is a 3/4" cut plate upfront then if u want finer run it again with smaller plate...
its not the 6$ im to worried about..its making custom chum for certain applications. one for bait, one for sharks, one for this one for that..get it... already have the deep freezer packed up with bags of assorted fish..

kblue whenever u wanna make a mess let me know..we could make it here, there or even take it on a pier and not have to worry about the mess

Bringing the machine to the pier could end up being boarderline brilliant. In a Huck Fynn kinda way, if you played your cards right you could end up with every kid on the pier catching pilchards (and anything else) just for the privilege of tossing them into the maw live and watch them squish out the other side. I would play lol

Nilsen I know exactly what you're thinking because the first time I met you in the Keys I almost fell over. The resemblance is friggin uncanny right? He's the current head of Mosad in the Middle East respectfully referred to as the Surgeon. Hes a huge rock star in Israel. I met him when I lived in Dubai and we (I) stay in touch. I sent him a pic of you in the Keys holding a permit last year and he actually thought I photoshopped him in. Wants to meet you.

I heard everybody has a double running around somewhere but what's the chance of meeting both of you lol. I love the guy so that's going to be my official Boatless avatar unless...........I'm told by someone to take it down (in Hebrew). :auto:

When I was a kid pretty much every dock, cleaning table, in the Keys had an old school cast iron hand operated Grinder for grinding remains for chum and a hand pump to draw water from the canals for the cleaning station

im not sure the specs and the label is already missing..it was used to turn and shape wood. has to be 3/4-1.5 hp. already mounted to a board on a switch with small v belt pully

Oh man my mom had a grinder like that when I was a kid. Also look at pulley size. To gear down speed at grinder. Larger pully at grinder = less rpm. A heavy pully can also act as a flywheel and give u more force.
